Are you a lover of food but you're worried about your weight? Then, no fear! There are plenty of delicious foods that you can eat that can help you lose weight and stay healthy. Here are a list of ingredients and foods that may satisfy your taste buds as well as your waist line. (Note: this is in no particular order).
#1. Eggs - Eggs are known to be high in protein which will help your body feel as though it's full for a long period of time. In a study made by Louisiana State University, it was found that women who are on a low-calorie diet and are eating eggs with toast and jelly in the morning, were more likely to lose twice as many pounds as someone who ate a bagel.
#2. Salad - We all know that vegetables are good for our body and health because they make you feel full and you take in less calories. Put some tomatoes, beets, carrot, lettuce, or cucumbers into your salad mix. But remember, try and hold off the high caloric salad dressing.
#3. Green tea - This tea is void of all caffeine. What makes it help you lose weight is the antioxidants is contains which help speed up your body's metabolism and in turn, helps you burn more fat quicker.
#4. Lentils - These seed are a great way to burn fat and flatten your belly. Lentils are high in soluble fiber and protein which aids in stabilizing the body's blood sugar levels, according to Tanya Zuckerbrot, R.D. Because they manage blood sugar levels, it also prevents spikes in insulin levels which can cause our body to produce more fat.
#5. Salmon - Fish are famous for having Omega 3 fatty acids in them, which help build muscles and decrease belly fat. It's also good for keeping our hearts healthy, another benefit of Omega 3.
#6. Yogurt - We have heard that yogurt is helps ease digestion and that is why it's a bonus that it also helps us slim down. Yogurt contains carbohydrates, protein, and fat which help keep our hunger at bay.
#7. High Fiberous Cereals - Foods high in fiber make you full faster because they are bulkier. The plus to this is that most of the time, these high fibrous cereals are low on calories. They also help with digestion.
#8. Grapefruit - Research has shown that people who eat half a grapefruit before a meal or drink three glasses of grapefruit juice a day lose on average three pounds in 12 weeks. Since it reduces our insulin levels, it makes our body turn the calories we've taken in, into energy rather than fat.
When you are trying to lose weight, make sure you always eat in moderation. Even if it is said that these foods are good fat burners, too much can be harmful to our body. As a reminder, it is best to eat slowly. The slower we eat, the better, because it gives the body time to feel full and it protects us from overeating. On average, we should take about 20 minutes to finish a meal, any faster, and we become more tempted to grab an additional snack. Lastly, don't forget to drink water! Sometimes our body mistakes hunger for thirst, so always keep yourself hydrated! After all, we are made up of roughly 70% water.
